Books for Christmas!

As I mentioned in a post a few months ago, I’ll be adding lists of some of my favorite authors and books.

Since the holiday season is upon us, Christmas is my focus this time.
So here are some books I recommend for everyone’s holiday shopping list:
  • Love Finds You at Home for Christmas by Annalisa Daughety and Gwen Ford Faulkenberry
  • Love Finds You Under the Mistletoe by Irene Brand and Anita Higman
  • Christmas Belles of Georgia by Jeanie Smith Cash, Rose Allen McCauley, Jeri Odell, and Debra Ullrick
  • A Simple Amish Christmas by Vannetta Chapman

And of course I have to add a few of my own Christmas books:
  • Love Finds You on Christmas Morning by Trish Perry and me
  • Christmas Homecoming by Paige Winship Dooly, Elizabeth Goddard, Elizabeth Ludwig and me
  • Snowbound for Christmas by Andrea Boeshaar and me

Grandchildren Rule!

I absolutely loved having my granddaughters here for Thanksgiving! Emma delighted us with her beautiful pictures, songs, and just being her usual charming self. Sophia’s sweet little baby smiles lit up the room as she learned how to get the Cheerios from her tray to her mouth. I’m proud of the girls, and I have to give a healthy dose of credit to my daughter Alison and son-in-law Jason for being such wonderful parents.

Happy Birthday, Lauren Mayne Carroll!

I want to wish my younger daughter Lauren Jessica Mayne Carroll a very happy birthday. When she was born twenty-seven years ago in Brandon, Florida, she joined her sister Alison who was 2-1/2 at the time, my husband Wally, and me.

Lauren has made me a very proud mama in many ways. She’s a committed Christian, loving daughter, and married to Ryan, a really great guy who is serving in the U.S. Air Force. She recently started a job with Createspace, an Amazon company, where I pray she thrives and finds a rewarding career. She has two cute kitties, Maddie and Olive.

Happy Thanksgiving Week!

I've decided to post my Thanksgiving message early because my daughter Lauren's birthday just happens to fall on Thursday this year.

I wish everyone a very happy and joyful Thanksgiving! As Americans we have so many blessings to be thankful for it would be impossible to list them in a single blog post. However, I do have some helpful hints on holiday etiquette that I'd like to share:

Delightful Bloomfield Book by Gail Sattler

If you haven’t already purchased Take the Trophy and Run by Gail Sattler, do it now.

You can purchase it in print or download it from any of your favorite online retailers:

Gail and I have been writer friends for quite a few years. She’s one of those people I look for at conferences when I need a hug, a laugh, or a break from the crowd. We talk about everything from our love for our families and animals to books and music. She has a fun and playful spirit that comes through in all her books. Once you read one story by Gail, you’ll be addicted.

Here's her bio:
Gail Sattler lives in Vancouver BC where you don't have to shovel rain, with her husband, three sons, two dogs, and a lizard, who is quite cuddly for a reptile. When she's not busy writing, Gail is an active musician playing piano for the worship team at her church, electric bass for a local jazz band, and upright acoustic bass for a community orchestra. Gail also loves to sit back with a hot coffee and a good book written by someone else. Please visit Gail's website at www.gailsattler.com.
