Happy Memorial Day!

Memorial Day is a time to reflect and celebrate the sacrifices made for our freedoms as Americans. Originally called Decoration Day, it started after the Civil War.

Many people only see Memorial Day as the beginning of summer, but we need to keep in mind what the cost of freedom really is. It’s not free. In fact, the price is steeper than many of us realize. People who fight to protect the U.S.A. are willing to give their lives so we can go on living in this beautiful country filled with more opportunity than citizens of most other countries will ever have the privilege of seeing.

So before you head out to the beach or on the road for your family vacation, take a moment to reflect with gratitude. And don’t forget to pray for those who are willing to serve our country in these tumultuous times.
